Dear Prospective Students and Parents:

We are so pleased with your interest in our school and we look forward to sharing our unique educational vision with you. Founded on the belief that Torah values require a strong focus on individual moral development, Shalhevet has wed a rigorous Judaic and General Studies curriculum, in conjunction with the moral development theories and democratic “Just Community” model of Dr. Lawrence Kohlberg, a prominent psychologist from Harvard’s School of Education. In the classroom, our faculty engages students in subject-specific moral dilemma discussions designed to elevate students’ moral reasoning. The result is a school where students are empowered to voice and develop thoughtful opinions, which contribute to the formation of certain school policies and make them active stakeholders.

Enhanced by a wide range of arts, athletics and other co-curriculars, a Shalhevet education integrates all of the student’s intellectual and spiritual strengths. Our students can use critical thinking skills on the soccer field, teamwork in a math project, and empathy they’ve learned in drama to understand a lesson in Jewish History or Modern Middle East. If this rich and diverse educational environment sounds right for you, we encourage you to apply.

Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to getting to know you during the Admission process.

Warmly,

Maya Cohen
