Technology is a powerful tool to help foster educational excellence. It promotes communication, collaboration, research and innovation. At Shalhevet, our educational vision drives our use of technology. Technology becomes a powerful tool to help our faculty teach and our students learn in a new and exciting way. Lessons can now literally come to life.
Three years ago, Shalhevet launched their new iPad program. The program allows our faculty to elevate the level of instruction in class, creating engaging, interactive and multi-sensory lessons. Last year, our faculty, under the guidance of a select group of iPad leaders on the Shalhevet faculty, developed new curriculum for use with the iPads. This exciting program will help faculty teach 21st century skills and create paperless assessments, digital textbooks and collaborative projects.
In addition to our new iPad program, technology is integrated into the curriculum in a multitude of ways. Last year, Shalhevet switched to Google Apps for Education to take advantage of cloud storage, email, blogs, photo pages, and so much more. Our entire campus allows for wireless internet access for both faculty and students. An online learning management system, Schoology, delivers class specific resources including homework assignments, course related documents, multimedia and grades that are accessed by students and parents.
