English Teacher

Brian Forrester spent most of his childhood on remote, overseas military bases in places like Okinawa, the South Pacific, and the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. He actually wrote and performed his first play to entertain the sailors aboard an aircraft carrier. Brian spent ten years constantly traveling around the country for his first career as a corporate loss prevention investigator specializing in supply chain fraud. While catching thieves was certainly fulfilling work, Brian’s first love was always writing and literature.

He completed his B.A. in English at Kennesaw State University and pursued Secondary English Teaching credential at CSUN. He also founded and served as the first Artistic Director of the Kennesaw Underground Theater, a company dedicated to productions of high school and undergraduate playwrights which is currently about to embark on its 14th season. Brian went on to earn an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in Pittsburgh. He worked with the Carnegie Mellon Pre-College Program to develop a summer playwriting curriculum and drama festival for high school students. The day after graduation, Brian and one of his classmates packed everything they owned into his car and pooled their gas money for the great American journey west to California. By the time they reached Los Angeles five days later, he was in love with her, and she is now his wife and fellow dramatist.
