How to Apply

Application for the 2018-2019 school year: APPLY HERE.

Application:
To begin, submit an online application.  Go to http://mytads.com/a/shalhevet.  Click on the 2018-2019 application button. Create an account for yourself. Fill out the online form.  
 
The "Getting to Know You" section should be filled out by applicants independently, without the help of parents.   
 
We invite applicants to submit additional materials that will help us get to know you better and that is not reflected elsewhere in our application.  This may include artwork, schoolwork, poetry, an essay, a video, information about hobbies/skills/special talent or another format of your choice.  We know that you are much more than an online form!
 
Report Cards:
Applicants to 9th grade:
Please request that your current school email us report cards from 6th, 7th and first semester of 8th grade.  
 
If applying to 10th or 11th grades, please email us final report cards for the past 2 years.
 
Recommendation Forms:
At the end of our online application, supply us with contact information for your principal, Math teacher, English teacher and a Rabbi or Judaic Studies teacher.  If you attend public school, we will want a recommendation from your rabbi.
 
Parents are asked to give us permission to contact your principal.  We also ask if you will waive your right to view recommendations.
 
Application Fee:
$150 non-refundable fee
 
Admission Testing:
We require applicants to take the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam).  We administer the exam at Shalhevet in November (followed by lunch!) and hope you will take it with us.  If you take the exam elsewhere, make sure your scores are sent to us by December 31, 2017 by using our school code 054262 when you register.  Register at https://iseeonline.erblearn.org/ with our testing code: C2AQTN7L. Bring your confirmation letter, ID, pens and pencils on your test date.
Shalhevet must recieve ISEE scores by December 31, 2017.
*A limited number of fee waivers are available to parents with financial need.  Please contact Natalie.

Late registration by - November 4, $135
After November 4 - walk in fee, $150 - must RSVP to n.weiss@shalhevet.org
 
Testing with Accommodations
A student with a documented disability may be eligible for accommodations on the ISEE.
Applicants MUST submit specific documents directly to ERB Learn at least FIVE WEEKS prior to the test date.  Look for confirmation from ERB Learn that accommodations were approved.

Applicant Interviews:
We hold small group interviews in January 2018.  We'll contact you to set it up.
 
We recommend you apply to other schools as Shalhevet has had a wait-list for the past several years.  It's good to have a back up plan.
