Drama
The Drama Program at Shalhevet nurtures students as artists while encouraging them to strive for professionalism and excellence. Every fall we produce a mainstage show designed by Los Angeles theatre designers; our diverse repertoire of plays builds our students’ skill set and enriches the greater community. Our plays range from Jewish classics to Shakespeare to exciting contemporary works.
In the spring, students write and create their own plays and films. We have produced everything from one-act festivals to devised musicals and plays based on kids’ interviews with Jewish senior citizens. Professional playwrights and choreographers collaborate with our students to create dynamic, high-quality productions that combine theatrical and digital story-telling.
