Education Support

“I have a project due and I am not sure where to start” “I went to bed last night at midnight and I have two tests this week. What do I do?” “I’m nervous about making friends”

The Education Support program at Shalhevet is designed to support and help students navigate and co-construct solutions to the academic and social-emotional challenges that can emerge in high school. We embrace challenge as an opportunity for growth. In that growth, we recognize that we all need a little help from time-to-time.

This program encompasses both the Educational Support and Guidance teams -- which work closely together to provide our students with multifaceted support. Supporting our students requires a holistic view, understanding their academic, social, and emotional needs.

The Education Support team, led by Dr. Ashley Evins, works with many of our students who require support in their academic classes, helps to access accommodations with them, and is available for day to day meetings for various issues that may arise throughout the year.

Some Education Support Programs include:
  • Nitzotz Program: Individualized learning program designed to expand Jewish Day School access
  • Individualized Student Learning Plans: Co-created educational plans to support student learning.
  • Transition Support: Students receive individualized executive functioning support to help them plan, organize and time manage.
  • Summer Bridge Program: Designed to support students with the transition into high school and ensure a seamless transition to the Shalhevet community
